Introducing The Show

When it comes to unexplained phenomena, it is just that. Unexplained. We try to approach this from as many different ways as possible, and to throw out the assumptions that have driven research for a very long time. These strange experiences people have, no matter what you want to label or catagorize them as, are real in some way. They have been reported throughout history and across cultures. If nothing else, they are a very Human experience. None of the theories we have may even come close to divining what we are actually experiencing, if they did, we would have some answers. We do not know what Reality is, what life or death are, or truly why we are here. We do know that our senses filter much out, and our memories do not work like we think they do. New approaches are needed if we are ever to make any progress at all in understanding what we are interacting with. Some of that comes from understanding ourselves, and some of that comes from having a truly open mind in confronting those things that defy explanation. We need new eyes, perspectives, and better questions. That is the goal of Where Did the Road Go? To go places that have not been tread before, and explore new things from new angles. To leave the well worn road, and wander...

Weirdumentary with Gary Rhoads and Robert Guffey - Aug 2, 2025

This is a fun conversation with Gary Rhoads, and I invited one of his best friends, Robert Guffey, to join us!

Weirdumentary: Ancient Aliens, Fallacious Prophecies, and Mysterious Monsters from 1970s Documentaries is a 2025 book by Gary D. Rhodes that explores the genre of pseudo-documentaries from the 1970s, such as Chariots of the Gods and The Man Who Saw Tomorrow, which popularized topics like ancient aliens, prophecies, and cryptids. The book provides a history of these films, individual entries on over 45 movies, and features images from the era, making it a resource for fans of pop culture, cinema, and the paranormal.

There are also 2 Patreon segments that came from this, you can buy those separately or become a Patreon and support the show for only $3 a month. Extra content almost every show, shows commercial free and weeks early, and bonus stuff on top of that!

Strange Light: Paranormal Encounters and their Effects - July 26, 2025

Seriah is joined by Edson Freeman, to discuss his excellent book, Strange Light. It tells diverse stories of people with lifetimes of paranormal experiences, and how it has affected them.

From Amazon: What happens when ordinary people meet the extraordinary? In Strange Light, author Edson Freeman gathers riveting firsthand accounts of lives upended by events that defy explanation-UFO encounters, near‑death experiences, psychic awakenings, startling synchronicities, and mysterious lights dancing over the Marfa desert.

Spanning North America, Australia, the UK, India, and Japan, these personal narratives include prophetic dreams that came true, conversations with departed loved ones, and face‑to‑face meetings with non‑human intelligences. Freeman lets each witness speak in their own voice: no sensationalism, no dismissal-just the raw, unfiltered moment when the boundaries of consensus reality give way.

Readers curious about consciousness studies, paranormal phenomena, and fringe science will find an empathetic yet pragmatic exploration of the questions mainstream culture struggles to ask. If you appreciate the investigative rigor of Leslie Kean, the human warmth of John Mack, or the sense of wonder in Chris Bledsoe, Strange Light invites you to rethink what you thought was impossible.

WhereDidtheRoadGo

Our Goal

Where Did the Road Go? aims to go deeper than your average fringe-aimed talk show. We ask hard questions, without being overly confrontational. We support the work of our guests. We want to bring their ideas and research to as wide an audience as possible, while also viewing it from as many directions as possible. We are not interested in wild speculation, although some speculation can be fun and constructive. We seek out the most interesting researchers and avoid the pop culture that is so overexposed today. As a result, you will hear from some people that you would not otherwise. We cover the paranormal in all its forms; Ghosts, UFO's, Bigfoot, Cryptids, Psychic Abilities, etc. We heavily explore Lost Civilizations in many directions. We talk of cataclysms and cycles of ages. We occasionally touch on religion and beliefs. We explore concepts of consciousness and reality, altered states and DMT. And once, in a great while, we may touch on something political. But not often. We believe in science. We believe that the cutting edge of science should be embraced, not ignored. We believe that new ideas should be explored, and that dogma in science is a very bad thing that restricts progress. There are things in this world that we simply do not understand. Things, that from our current perspective, may not be understood. Strange things happen to people, all the time. There are genuine unknowns out there. We want to explore them. They may not be what we think they are, but people have had these experiences throughout history, so something is happening to them. We look to shed preconceptions and look at things with new eyes, new angles, and without the assumptions that have been hampering our understanding of these things. It's important. We need to truly explore our world and know where we came from. We need to know what we may really be interacting with. We need to enlighten ourselves. If there was a lost civilization, what happened to it, and could it happen to us? If there are beings that can come and go in this world, why do they, and what might they want? It matters if things are not what they seem. In the end, we may need a whole new view of reality itself. We don't follow the path that has been tread before. We seek to be torch bearers down a new road, because so far, the roads traveled have not revealed the answers. So enjoy the show, feel free to interact, ask questions, and open your mind.

Skeptics vs Debunkers

The word skeptic is thrown around a little too easily nowadays. The majority of those that call themselves skeptics, simply are not. You may better call them closed minded skeptics, but in reality, they are debunkers. The have their mind made up, and they have an agenda to disprove that which they feel doesn't fit in with their views. Debunkers can't deal with admitting there are things they may not know or understand. Anyone, on any side, that has their mind made up, is not a Skeptic. A true skeptic, asks questions. A true skeptic questions everything, and is open to new ideas. Where Did the Road Go? is a skeptical show, in that it asks questions. We have no agenda, we are not seeking to prove any one thing over another, but to expand the awareness of those interested. You can decide for yourself what to believe and what to dismiss.
