About This Show
When it comes to unexplained phenomena, it is just that. Unexplained. We try to approach this from as many different ways as possible, and to throw out the assumptions that have driven research for a very long time. These strange experiences people have, no matter what you want to label or catagorize them as, are real in some way. They have been reported throughout history and across cultures. If nothing else, they are a very Human experience. None of the theories we have may even come close to divining what we are actually experiencing, if they did, we would have some answers. We do not know what Reality is, what life or death are, or truly why we are here. We do know that our senses filter much out, and our memories do not work like we think they do. New approaches are needed if we are ever to make any progress at all in understanding what we are interacting with. Some of that comes from understanding ourselves, and some of that comes from having a truly open mind in confronting those things that defy explanation. We need new eyes, perspectives, and better questions. That is the goal of Where Did the Road Go? To go places that have not been tread before, and explore new things from new angles. To leave the well worn road, and wander...
On this show we tackle an article written by PZ Myers about The 2016 Paradigm Symposium. In it PZ unfairly attacks both Laird Scranton and Peter Robbins. We address this, as well as attacks on Brien Foerster, David Paulides, etc. This is a re-done version of a podcast we recorded a month or so ago, but deleted due to some factual errors that I myself, Seriah, had continued unknowingly. This is that basic talk, with new material based on the PZ Myers article. We also discuss how the media arrives at facts, and just general ways people dismiss marginal subjects like the Paranormal.
Jeffrey Kripal joins Seriah and Michael Hughes to talk about his latest book with Whitley Strieber, The Super Natural: A New Vision of the Unexplained. We discuss ways of approaching the paranormal, different ways of assessing the data, and what these experiences ultimately may mean.

Mike Clelland joins me for Part 2 of our conversation about his book, The Messengers; Owls, Synchronicity, and the UFO Abductee. You can find a previous show in our archive with Mike from 2013 when he was starting this book, but this will go so much deeper into this mystery. Mike is often now known as The Owl Guy due to this research. We will discuss the subtleties of what he investigates, how it all ties together, and what it may teach us about ourselves and the weirdness of the universe.
In this midweek show, I we discuss the story of Carlos Casteneda, who he was, whether or not what he wrote about was true, and what happened at the end. It's an exploration of the cultural impact Carlos had, and the dangers of such magnetic personalities.
Mike Clelland joins me to finally talk about his book, The Messengers; Owls, Synchronicity, and the UFO Abductee. I am joined by Jashua Cutchin, and for the first time by Tim Binnall of the podcast Binnall of America. We discuss a bit about how our views of the paranormal have changed over time, and we get into conspiracies, and much more. Also a warning to regular listeners, there is a lot of swearing in this one, at least on Tim's part. A lot. You've been warned.
Brian Ackley, writer, producer of the movie Aliented, joins me to talk about the movie, inspiration, UFO's, Conspiracies, and more. Alienated is about a conspiracy theorist who witnesses a UFO but doesn't know how to tell his wife, fearing she won't believe him. This blows up their relationship, and you follow the downward spiral, with some surreal side trips...
Greg Bishop joins me to talk about his latest book, It Defies Language! We get into Government Disinformation, Cattle Mutilations, Crop Circles, the SERPO Story, Skeptism, the Name Game, and much more...
The Mammoth Mountain Poltergeist: In December of 1982, when Tom Ross was thirteen years old, he took a week’s vacation to Mammoth Lakes in California with his aunt, uncle, and cousin. Almost from the moment they arrived at their condo, they experienced a near-constant barrage of bizarre phenomena that escalated over their stay, and seemed to follow them after they left. Items moved around by themselves, shades flew open when no one was near them, bloody tissues appeared out of nowhere, words appeared on windows in empty rooms, a blue haze seemed to hover near the ceiling, a door chain was broken from the inside by what appeared to be a clawed hand, and disembodied voices emerged from corners. The family was simultaneously terrified and amazed. Thirty-two years later, the four witnesses decided to tell their story.
I talk with Jenny Ashford and Tom Ross and we discuss Tom's experiences, as well as what has happened since the book was published.
