About This Show

When it comes to unexplained phenomena, it is just that. Unexplained. We try to approach this from as many different ways as possible, and to throw out the assumptions that have driven research for a very long time. These strange experiences people have, no matter what you want to label or catagorize them as, are real in some way. They have been reported throughout history and across cultures. If nothing else, they are a very Human experience. None of the theories we have may even come close to divining what we are actually experiencing, if they did, we would have some answers. We do not know what Reality is, what life or death are, or truly why we are here. We do know that our senses filter much out, and our memories do not work like we think they do. New approaches are needed if we are ever to make any progress at all in understanding what we are interacting with. Some of that comes from understanding ourselves, and some of that comes from having a truly open mind in confronting those things that defy explanation. We need new eyes, perspectives, and better questions. That is the goal of Where Did the Road Go? To go places that have not been tread before, and explore new things from new angles. John Ward joins us again, this time to follow up our conversation on the Occult that we started last month when he and Scotty were on. We discuss the recent Paradigm Symposium, Ghost Hunting, Occultism, Symbolism, Aleister Crowley, and more...

Dr. John Ward is an archaeologist and anthropologist residing in Luxor, Egypt. Over the years, Dr. Ward has conducted numerous investigations of ancient Egyptian architecture and symbolism, while also carrying out research into the many mysteries surrounding medieval Templarism. In 2006, Ward was recruited by the Knights Templar of Britannia, which is a modern Templar order affiliated with and has been acknowledged by the Vatican. With the help of his partner, Dr. Maria Nilsson, John has managed to track the use of particular symbols through the various dynasties and the geography of ancient Egypt leading all the way into the present, with similar threads even extending into parts of Western Europe. The symbols that John and Maria have come to recognize play a very important and integral role, based from their studies, regarding ancient Egyptian life. It is through these symbols that they are driven with the passion to continue their work, which has enabled them not only to develop a greater understanding of the various cultures they study, but also to utilize and acknowledge the importance and sanctity of the symbols. These are aspects which, John argues, still remain largely unknown to mainstream academia.

His extensive historical research has revealed a single advanced, secular benevolent source for all religions.
 
His Golden Age Project inspired by the work of Christian and Barbara Joy O'Brien promotes the recovery of past knowledge in order to resolve many of today's problems. He believes that re-establishing high standards of training and knowledge for all important roles, forms a priority in establishing good Government and successful Social Organisation and Cohesion.
 
Above all, he emphasizes the priority need for a clear understanding of the written parts of our brilliant British Constitution and the upholding of the Rule of Law for the People. Issues currently threatened by totalitarian politics.

We will have with us in studio this night, Melanie Zimmer, to talk about the weird history and folklore of New York State. We get into lost ruins and folklore of the Seneca Indians. We talk about the haunted locations around Upstate New York, and some of the weird stories and personalities that have contributed to the history of the region.
 
Storyteller Melanie Zimmer has written four books on New York State lore:Central New York and the Finger Lakes Myths Legends and Lore,Forgotten Tales of New York, and Curiosities of Central New York, published by The History Press. Her latest book is Curiosities of the Finger Lakes. Ms. Zimmer has been a storyteller for several decades and enjoys sharing and studying the folklore of the regions of New York State.
 
Melanie Zimmer has recently created the script for a legendary walking tour app of Midtown Manhattan called “Secrets of Manhattan” “Discover Midtown Manhattan and its legends; explore New York City through its tales” which is available for iPhone or Android phones through PocketGuide Inc. She is a member of the New York Folklore Society.
